Week Camps
Program
We achieve a balance between instruction and recreation, activity and relaxation as well as group and individual accomplishment. This makes each day enjoyable as well as exciting.
Campers attend 3 instructional periods each day as a cabin group. One of these periods each day exposes children to the YMCA Swim Lessons. Children also have 2 supervised free times each day where they may choose from activities including; swimming, rock-climbing, archery, crafts, and various other sports and games.
One day of each week is devoted to the theme for the week. Children participate in a wide array of activities revolving around the theme for the week. Staff Members adorn costumes and prepare for an exciting and memorable day!
We try to make the most of every moment. Our program is an experience in community living, where all children must pitch in and do their part. This is the type of environment where character blooms and children find themselves. Parents often comment on the sense of responsibility their children have after arriving home.

Leader In Training Program
The Leader in Training Program provides a chance for teens to enjoy all that Camp Kenan has to offer. Campers who are 15 years of age by October 31, 2008 can participate in this two-week special program for teens. At the beginning of this two-week session the LIT's set their own schedule. Activities will have an emphasis on teambuilding, character development, and fun. Camp service projects, a two-day canoe trip and leading evening programs are examples of special activities for these teens. A great program to begin the transition from camper to counselor. Spots are limited for this program and fill up quickly!
