Tour Our Camp
Situated on more than 50 acres along the Lake Ontario shores, Camp Kenan is settled in a beautiful, natural environment. With the great outdoors comes quaint, rustic sleeping quarters. There are 15 centrally located cabins on our property, and they house between 10-12 campers weekly.
The Main Dinning Hall, or to our Kenan Campers, "the Mess Hall," is where all of the meals at camp are served, and can also function as a place for campers to perform skits, sing and get together during inclement weather and in the evening. The Mess Hall is winterized, and houses a beautiful stone fireplace.
The Anne C. Crofts Memorial Pool at Camp Kenan provides the opportunity to teach YMCA "Learn to Swim" programs. Each camper is tested for their swim ability and has a daily lesson that is taught by a trained instructor certified in Red Cross CPR and Lifesaving.
Other facilities include the Craft & Nature Complex, the Ruth Natemeier Memorial Climbing Tower, a 12 multi-element Low Ropes Course, 5 Element High Ropes Course, our recently renovated Outdoor Education Lodge, and the Archery Range. Our Ropes courses, which are among the most popular camp activities were introduced in 1995, and are staffed by our trained instructors. These challenge based activities offer campers a unique opportunity to "reach new heights" and gain confidence and strength while learning a new skill.
Our dining hall doubles as a conference center and can comfortably seat 250 people for meals. Our recreation hall serves as an evening program center, indoor hockey court and challenging indoor rock-climbing wall. We have extensive indoor program space letting rain never spoil the fun!
